About the Author:

Born in Ogden, Utah, Jean Holbrook Mathews attended Weber State. In St. Louis, Missouri she completed her education receiving her BS of education/English from University of Missouri-St. Louis. After teaching briefly, she was elected to the Missouri House of Representatives where she served for ten years. During that time, she received her MPA from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Upon leaving the legislature, she was appointed by Governor John Ashcroft to serve as the public member of the state medical licensing board where she became the only non-physician ever elected as president of the board. She taught state government and public administration at UMSL as an adjunct professor. She and her husband served a humanitarian mission in the Philippines for the LDS Church. She has authored seven novels.
